Cosy Weekend Retreats but first to June

Cosy Weekend Retreats but first to June

This week, we’ve been busy pre-planning our autumn residential workshops. The shift in weather—from the sunny spring days we’ve been enjoying to the cooler temperatures of the past week—seems to have inspired us. We've decided to theme the workshops around 'cosy weekend retreats'—a few days away from everyday life, spent by a warm fire, tucked up with a good book, and an endless supply of tea.

Cathy has designed a gorgeous roll-top weekend bag and a matching wash bag. Keep an eye out for photos in the coming months! The bag featured in this week’s edition was originally designed as a men's shaving kit, but its versatility makes it much more than that. It’s perfect as a travel wash bag, an over-the-shoulder bag, or even a lunch bag. We’ve been struggling to come up with the perfect name for it, given how adaptable it is—so we’d love your input. Got any ideas for a name for this beautiful bag? Please share them with us!

June and onto early summer. Trees are in full leaf, the landscape a verdant patchwork of greens and yellows. On the air is a buzz of insects and the scent of herbs such as thyme. Banks, hedgerows and fields are alive with butterflies and small birds, and lifted by the colour of bramble in blossom, the pinks and blues of vetches and forget-me-nots, the pink and white of clover and wild roses and the yellow of buttercups in the wetter pastures. If the weather again becomes hot and settled there may be a first cut of hay at the end of June.
