July news and updates
The open studios was a huge success. It was lovely to open the doors and invite so many people in. We sometimes get a little complaisant with the studio but to see it through other peoples eye again it reminds us how magical and quirky a place it is to be. We had so many comments on the organisation of tools and leather and the overload on senses, the smells, the feel of the different leather, the items gifted and collected over the years. It was a great few days.
This Week we spent a day with our friends at The Bowery running a plant hanger workshop, we have the same plant hangers in mass assembly here in the workshop this month. A new shop is due to open on market street in Hebden Bridge called 'Potted' we have been commissioned to make them for their window display but also to showcase their plants and have them available to buy.
August and the rest of the summer is super busy and we are in and out of the studio. We have some availability for workshops in the studio and also on our travels with our fellow craftsmen around Yorkshire. The dates, availability and locations are available to see on our website and via craft courses.
As of yesterday we are in our current new moon phase. If you've noticed a distinct absence of the moon in the sky it's because the moon is now so close to the sun in the sky that none of the face pointing toward Earth is illuminated. This means that the moon is positioned directly between the Earth and Sun, all we can see is the shadowy outline. This phase of the moon i is time for intention setting. Think of the intentions as seeds you plant into the ground and water them through your beliefs and actions. Visualisation also plays a key role in this moon get those glue sticks to hand a create your own vision boards, seeing is believing. Organisation is also a focus, here in the studio we love to make a list, we cherish our day book, it keeps us ticking over and means we don't have to try and remember everything from ordering rivets to replying to emails. Our wall planner is also our go too, we must check it every few minutes. Our tip get pen to paper this week and make notes, lists or start a journal.
