Love what you do
Happy Valentine’s Day to you all, make sure today you do one thing that makes you smile….
We are thinking of looking for some signs of spring to lift our spirits, as this cold, wintery weather persists. Hopefully on our travels, we will be able to see some definite signs of spring as the celandines start to appear with their glossy, yellow petals which open fully at the slightest hint of sunshine as well as crocuses which seeming appear in the grass overnight with their deep purple or yellow blooms.
Of course, these flowers could not do what they do without the soil they live in. Here we need to send a lot of love to earthworm, an inch of soil takes a thousand years to make, and it is done mainly through earthworm’s work, pulling vegetation into the ground, digesting it and aerating the soil with their burrows. Their absolute favourite thing is a pile of mulch on a spring flower bed. To make sure nature comes to you, look after those earthworms! Moles survive on them, thrushes love them, and the soil they create is abundant with life, you will find a million different things in a teaspoon of soil.
Earthworms are not the only hardworking things as will be spending Valentine’s day, travelling to Darlington to run a 2-day backpack workshop for the North Yorks Arts School, no better way to spend the day than doing something we love!
