Our travels to Scotland

Our travels to Scotland

Cathy has just spent another week at Gartmore House in Stirlingshire, which is now becoming a regular leatherworking residency for her. She has a lovely week, tutoring the participants on how to make a journal cover, tool roll and apron. These projects are perfect for anyone who is starting out on their leather crafting journey.

It’s a good job she packed her thick socks and water bottle as the night temperatures in Scotland got down to as low as -11 degrees!

As we reach the end of the month, we have the chance to experience a rare astronomical sighting as the seven planets align in the sky, known as the ‘planetary parade.’ The best time of day to see them is after right after sunset, in a dark area free of light pollution and a view of the western horizon.

Thankfully we are now nearly into March, where we can look forward to lighter evenings as the clocks go forward an hour on the 30th of March.
